The Wahlberg’s Restaurant Business In Trouble

Donny and Marc Wahlberg’s family burger chain Wahlburgers may be in financial trouble. Their Coney Island Brooklyn location just closed down and they are having trouble opening a Times Square location.

A source says “They were on the verge of being locked out of Coney Island” for not paying rent and financial issues are preventing them from opening their Times Square spot too.

A rep for the burger chain denies that there are financial issues saying, “Wahlburgers required its Coney Island restaurant to close due to a number of factors. The same franchise group was in the process of developing a space in Times Square. In both cases the franchisee was not operating in compliance with Wahlburgers business practices and brand standards.”

They added, “Ownership is in the process of restructuring their business and bringing in new management to ensure that Wahlburgers Coney Island maintains the brand’s values and high criteria as both a restaurant and a workplace. “

With all the money Marc makes for these stupid Transformer’s movies we kind of believe that it’s a restructuring and not financial issues.
