Despite having won the July 29 fight which allowed him to take the UFC light heavyweight belt from Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones is set to loose his title. The UFC fighter has failed another drug test as he tested positive for Turinabol — an anabolic steroid.
A rep for Jones says, “We are all at a complete loss for words right now. Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation. We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. Jon is crush by this news and we are doing whatever we can as a team to support him.”
This new news means Jones would be stripped of the title and the fight would be called a “no contest.” Cormier, who said, “It is very hard not to feel cheated. Again.” will regain the title and Jones could face up to a 4 year ban.
